About Tired Dave

Tired Dave is an ukulele teacher on the beautiful island of Maui. Living on Maui is expensive! Dave has to be creative in making some extra/necessary money. He has a 99' Corolla and an 99' F150 ”Overlander”. If you’ve never heard of Overlanding before, its just fancy talk for camping. When someone is driving the one vehicle, he drives the other. If people wanna drive both, he'll ride a bike.


Let him help you out. If you are visiting Maui and want to camp or drive a Corolla, Tired Dave is here for you. His cars are not new or fancy, but it is what it is. These bugga's even got some retractable sun shades. You'll like 'em.. Send Tired Dave a message, talk story.


His "fleet" is just the one Corolla and Overlander. They are white with a little bit of rust. But not to much.  The air conditioning blows cold and they run great. Both vehicles are well maintained. They should not let you down. They will take you to the mountain and the sea*.

Insurance Details

To the best of my knowledge, I understand this to be true.


  • In the event of an accident where you are at fault, my liability insurance is the first policy in effect, if there is more coverage required, your policy is used.
  • If the other driver is at fault, their policy is first in effect.


I have a collision policy for the car to cover it in the event you are at fault in an accident.

General Rental Requirements

  • You must be twenty one years of age or older.
  • You must be a licensed driver in in the United States of America.
  • You must have your own liability insurance.
  • Payment is due in full when you take possession of the vehicle, via Venmo, cash or the equivalent quantity of coconuts.
  • No Smoking, unless its ribs or chicken, and not in the car.
  • Fill it up with gas. I give it to you full.
  • No breaking the law

Picking up and Dropping off the Vehicles

My preferred method to get you the vehicle is to pick you up at the airport and drive us to my house. Then we can trade info and payment and you can take the car from there. This way neither of us needs to get a paid ride to meet up.


My preferred method for you to return the vehicle is the reverse. Drive to my house and I'll take you to the airport. Again no one needs to pay for a ride this way.


I am a teacher and I generally busy from 7am to 4pm weekdays from August to May. During this time I can not pick you up or drop you off at the airport. Weekends and late afternoons I can meet you at the airport. 


If you arrive during my work day we will need to work something out. I do need to be present when you receive the car. So I can meet you at the airport or at your place of lodging or somewhere else in town if you want to chill in Kahului / Wailuku while I get free. 


If you are dropping it off while I'm at work, then you can drop it at my house and get a ride to the airport.


I'm quite flexible and we can work something out, put your travel times in the form and let me know what you think so I can prepare a plan when I respond to you.
